State Water Board Proposes Fundamental Changes in Board Structure and Procedures

The State Water Resources Control Board has released a proposal that would fundamentally change how the State and regional boards are set up and how they carry out some of their most important functions.

SCAQMD Authorizes Go-Ahead for GHG Reduction Registration Program

At its June 6 meeting the governing board of the South Coast Air Quality Management District authorized its staff to proceed with development of a new program for registering greenhouse gas emission reductions. The District program, to be known as the SoCal Climate Solutions Exchange, will permit individuals and companies to voluntarily reduce GHG emissions from a source and to register those reductions with the Exchange.

A.G. Secures Largest Settlement for Portable Equipment Violations

Attorney General Jerry Brown has announced a $6 million settlement with a major construction company over the company's failure to obtain permits for portable construction equipment.
